About the organisation

Anadolu University is a public-funded higher-education institution founded in Eskişehir, Turkey in 1958. The University has since then gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Turkey, but also in the world. Situated in the center of Eskişehir, which is well-known as a city of science, culture and youth, its campus houses twelve faculties (undergraduate level) – three of which offer distance education, three applied schools – one of which is of music and drama, two vocational schools (associate level), six graduate schools – four of which offer graduate education, and thirty research centers. Anadolu University has been a pioneering institution on many fronts, particularly owing to the success of implementing the distance education system. Today, the total number of students of the three distance education faculties is over two million. The success in the development of this system has been taken as a model by many institutions in various countries.

Role in the project

Anadolu University is the E-SLP project partner, Anadolu support all work packages with its 37 years of experience of open and distance education. Anadolu is one of 4 partners at Pilot 5: Digital Competence of Educators and responsible for Module 2: Teaching and learning with digital resources.
